In the 1940’s during the aftermath of World War II, Nina, a young Polish woman, is deported with her baby by the Soviet Army to the remote
and inhospitable lands of the USSR’s eastern region. She has to work in a Sovkhoz labor camp guarded by the Russian military police. When
her child becomes ill, she flees and sets out across the barren planes of Siberia, in search of medication for her baby with a group of Kazakh
nomads. Critically acclaimed and festival awarded, the film portrays an intimate and personal experience of a woman, forced into exile,
struggling against inhuman conditions to save her child at any cost.
