Lon Chaney, still billed as Creighton Chaney plays detective Jack Wilson clean-shaven and the vicious Butch Curtain with plenty of makeup and crepe hair covering most of his so identifiable heavy features. Thus it becomes a cinch for Wilson to impersonate Curtain, until, that is, Zarah Tazil discovers the truth by kissing him. That is the kind of film Scream in the Night is, farfetched, slightly on the dull side and badly handled from a technical point of view. Recommended for diehard Chaney fans only!
