A biographical drama based on the writings of Boris Pasternak and the recollections of those close to him. Filmed on location in Russia, it tells the story of a man born into a cultured and artistic family. Under Stalin, Pasternak he was discredited and later, under Kruschev, was forced to refuse the Nobel Prize which he was awarded in 1958 for his autobiographical novel Dr. Zhivago.
