Soon to be fifty years old, Simon is an eminent and disillusioned violinist. For lack of better employment, he takes a position in a Parisian school to teach the violin to students of a 6th grade class. But, his rigid teaching methods made his classes laborious and did not help him create relationship with the students.
Arnold is fascinated by the violin, its gestures and sounds. A revelation for this child that is painfully timid. Little by little, in contact with Arnold's raw talent and the joyful energy of the rest of the class, Simon revives and reconnects with the joys of music. But, will he have enough energy to overcome obstacles and keep his promise to take the children to the Philharmonic?
