It was directed by William Dieterle and produced by Dore Schary with David O. Selznick as executive producer. The screenplay was by Marion Parsonnet, based on a radio play by Charles Martin. The music score was by Daniele Amfitheatrof, the cinematography by Tony Gaudio, and the costume design by Edith Head.
The film stars Joseph Cotten, Ginger Rogers, and Shirley Temple, with Spring Byington, Tom Tully, and John Derek.
