Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Silent film star John Gilbert was in the middle of his treadmill days at the Fox studios when he was cast in this drama as an honest young lawyer. John P. Lockney establishes himself as an especially wicked villain right off the bat when he kicks the hero's dog. Donald Keeth (Gilbert) has just arrived in Owasco, a town in the Pacific Northwest, to open up a law practice. When he lets Quartus Hembly (Lockney) have it good for mistreating his pet, he's courting trouble. Hembly, a lumber baron, is the town's political boss and everyone knuckles under to him -- or they leave. Keeth decides to stay and fight. Even though the odds are against him, Keeth manages to stir up the townsfolk, along with winning pretty Thora Ericson (Claire Anderson). Her father, on his deathbed, reveals all of Hembly's dirty deeds, and this information finally defeats the villain.
