Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

A tough outlaw, "Sierra" Bill (William S. Hart), falls in love with a travelling girl violinist, Nelly (Eva Novak), and forces her into marrying him. They have a child, but family life is interrupted by a gambler, (J. Gordon Russell), who not only persuades Nelly to leave her husband but ruins him at the gaming table. Half crazed with thoughts of vengeance, "Sierra" breaks out of jail and goes after the villain. Returning to the homestead a changed man from having "passed through bitterest sorrow and misery of the 'Testing Block,'" Sierra and Nelly reunite. Hart penned the story for this moralistic western directed in the usual stark way by Hart collaborator Lambert Hillyer.
