Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Although Alice Lake's work with comedy filmmakers like Mack Sennett and Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle is better known now than her subsequent dramatic work, she did have some good roles throughout the 1920s. In this mystery, she plays twin sisters. After their father's death, performers Julien and Paula Revell (both Lake) try to support their younger siblings (Stanley Goethals, Francis Carpenter, May Garaci, and Geraldine Condon). But they can't get enough bookings for their act, and when wealthy Samuel Pangborn (Herbert Standing) offers to support the clan if Julien becomes his mistress, she agrees. When he dies, Julien is left with most of his estate for as long as she's alive, or until she marries. Pangborn's sister and two grown children are left with only a thousand dollars apiece. In need of money, the children -- Max Hildreth (Cullen Landis) and Lillian Hildreth (Jackie Saunders) wind up working for Julien, Max as a teacher and Lillian as a governess. Although Max falls in love with Julien, he is hesitant about a romance because he realizes he came to work for her only to get his hands on her money. The girl, meanwhile, believes he is wary of her because of her immoral reputation. Everything is solved when it turns out that Julien died shortly after her husband did, and Paula is actually posing as her sister.
