Cowboy-hatted marshall McCloud (Dennis Weaver) certainly has his share of woe in Return to the Alamo. McCloud's NYPD superior Chief Clifford (J.D. Cannon) comes down with the flu, obliging Sgt. Broadhurst (Terry Carter) to assume command. When Broadhurst is kidnapped, the reins of authority are handed to an inexperienced female police sergeant (Teri Garr). Both the novice leader and McCloud come through the ordeal with flying colors, rescuing Broadhurst and collaring the kidnappers. Also appearing in Return to the Alamo is star Dennis Weaver's son Robert. This 2-hour TV movie first aired March 30, 1975, as an episode of the McCloud series.
