Synopsis by Hal Erickson
One of a series of colorful Italian documentaries released Stateside in the late 1950s, L'Ultimo Paradiso is better known by its English-language title The Last Paradise. The film's 95-minute running time is devoted to the people and customs of the Central Pacific islands. One startling scene involves a religious ceremony that segues into a primitive form of bungie-jumping! Also worth noting are the methods employed by native fisherman to avoid being consumed by sharks. As an added come-on to the "tired businessman" crowd, L'Ultimo Paradiso throws in a few shots of bare-breasted native girls.
