Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Right after Dan Stover (Monte Blue) marries Ellen Craig (Evelyn Brent), he is hired by Ellen's former sweetheart, Tom Hayden (Charles Gerrard). Stover, the captain of a harbor tug, has a friend who is about to marry Madge Barlow (Joan Lowell), but the man dies in an accident. When Stover discovers that Madge is already pregnant, he sends her away to have the child. Stover is assigned to a dangerous bar in the harbor, and he tells Ellen white lies so that she won't be concerned about his safety. During a big storm, when Ellen is very sick, Hayden insists that Stover must rescue a ship. Madge and her baby are on board and when Stover tries to defend her in a fight, he winds up in jail. Ellen, meanwhile, gives birth to a baby that quickly dies. Because of the gossips and Hayden's insinuations, Ellen believes that her husband is involved with Madge. She leaves him just just before Madge dies and Stover brings her baby home. The ship Ellen boards is in danger, and Stover comes to her rescue. He finally admits to his white lies, and she returns home to take care of the baby, which they adopt.
