Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

Lower-echelon cowboy star Bob Custer played a dual role in this, one of his more unusual assignments for low-budget company Independent Pictures. Constable Fitzgerald (Ralph McCullough) of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police force, is surprised when Belleau (Custer), the man accused of killing a bully (David Dunbar) in a barroom brawl, bears an uncanny likeness to one of his own officers, Bill McKenna (also Custer). Assigned to catch the presumed killer, McKenna learns that Belleau is indeed his own long-lost twin. To protect his twin's wife and child, McKenna allows himself to be arrested as Belleau. Mrs. Belleau (Emily Barrye), however, sees through the deception, and the refugee is ordered to stand trial. In the last minute, a "half-breed" confesses to the killing, and McKenna can pursue happiness with pretty Marie Rambo (Mary Beth Milford). Perhaps overly complicated for small-scale Independent Pictures, The Bloodhound was written by the prolific Adele Buffington.
