Research Department
The group of people and holdings that are responsible for discovering the requisite information needed for structuring a set. Research departments often have books, magazines, newspapers, pictures and articles from a specific period of time that are useful for the screen writer and art director. Information is relevant to costuming, language, idioms, furniture, parallel historical events and cultural aspects of a given locale and time-frame.
