James Cagney stars in the 1942 classic musical Yankee Doodle Dandy, released on DVD in a two-disc special edition from Warner Home Video. Presented with a standard full-screen transfer in the original black-and-white with a Dolby Digital Mono soundtrack in English. Subtitles are available in English, Spanish, and French. Closed captions are accessible. The special features start off with a commentary track by author and film historian Rudy Behlmer. The featurettes include the hour-long documentary "James Cagney: Top of the World," along with "Let Freedom Sing! The Story of Yankee Doodle Dandy" and "John Travolta Remembers Jimmy Cagney." Also features a couple of Yankee Doodle-inspired Looney Tunes cartoons and the1943 short documentary film You, John Jones, starring James Cagney. Other special features include audio clips, art galleries, trailers, awards, and biographies. This is an excellent special-edition release of an Academy award-winning classic.
