As the first cinematic pairing of Katharine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy, the classic Woman of the Year receives a respectful DVD release from MGM. Except for employing classier cover art, this MGM edition is essentially the same as the competing Warner DVD release of the film, so consumers can safely judge which version to buy based on list price alone. This edition looks great in its original full frame presentation, the audio track is well balanced and clean, and the DVD comes with its original theatrical trailer. The chapter features allow easy access to Woman of the Year's two comic centerpieces: Hepburn learning the rules of baseball and a brilliantly timed extended sequence where she attempts to cook Tracy breakfast.
