One of the most influential film's of the 1990s, Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction gets the deluxe two-disc treatment from Disney/Buena Vista on this release. The widescreen transfer preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 2.35:1. English soundtracks are rendered in both DTS Surround and Dolby Digital Surround. There are no subtitles, but the DTS soundtrack is closed-captioned. The copious supplemental materials include Tarantino's entire appearance on The Charlie Rose Show, snippets from a Siskel and Ebert special about Tarantino's influence on movies, a documentary about the making of the film, a featurette on the film's production design, Tarantino's acceptance speech when he won the Palme d'Or at the 1994 {~Cannes Film Festival, numerous writings about the film, theatrical trailers from various countries, television promotional spots, and hundreds of still photographs. Those with a DVD-ROM drive can access a trivia game, and the screenplay. This is a superb disc for a film that is worthy of such attention. |
