Princess Mononoke arrives on DVD in a widescreen anamorphic format (1.85:1 theatrical aspect ratio enhanced for 16 x 9 television) and these audio tracks: Japanese (Dolby Digital 5.1), English (Dolby Digital 5.1), and French (Dolby Digital 2.0), with English subtitles. The DVD is dual-layered with an astonishingly clear and crisp picture that really brings out the animated magic of the film. Sound quality is consistently good with particularly clear and bass-resonant music, particularly during the action scenes.
