A former jockey and vaudeville comic, Walter Robbins reportedly entered films with Vitagraph as early as 1911. By the 1920s, he was playing supporting roles in low-budget Westerns and continued to appear in films until at least 1943. Rarely billed, Robbins became one of Hollywood's best "teamsters," driving teams of horses in numerous low-budget Westerns as well as major releases such as Saratoga (1937) and The Ox-Bow Incident (1943).
