Snooky Lanson
Biography by Hal Erickson

Courageously adopting his childhood nickname as his professional moniker, singer Snooky Lanson began his career at a Nashville radio station in 1934. He went on to enjoy considerable popularity as a vocalist with the Ray Noble and Ted Weems orchestras throughout the 1940s. From 1950 to 1957 he co-starred with Dorothy Collins on TV's Your Hit Parade. Though he disappeared from the national scene after leaving the TV series, Snooky Lanson continued to successfully perform in night clubs, supplementing his income by hosting his own local TV and radio programs and working as a sales representative for a Nashville auto dealership.
