Leo Robin
Biography by Hal Erickson

American lyricist Leo Robin traversed the country as an actor, journalist and song plugger before settling in Hollywood. Signed by Paramount, Robin was most often teamed with composer Ralph Rainger; a extroverted pair, Robin and Rainger were "fictionalized" in many a comedy film featuring carefree songsmiths as the leading characters. Leo and Ralph themselves appeared onscreen performing their own numbers in the Paramount Pictorial short subject series. The best-known songs in the Leo Robin canon include "Louise," "Beyond the Blue Horizon," "Blue Hawaii," and the Oscar-winning Bob Hope signature tune "Thanks for the Memory."
