American actor Harold Lockwood played romantic leads in a number of early silent films. Before becoming a film actor in 1911 with the Rex production company, Lockwood had been a salesman and a performer in vaudeville and stock theater. Later he worked with several other studios including Ince and Famous Players and appeared in films opposite such noted actresses as Dorothy Davenport and Mary Pickford.
